Presentation

The Solar-Terrestrial and Space Physics Group of the University of L’Aquila (Italy) has a long experience in the space and solar-terrestrial physics. Its research activity is mainly focused on the study of the effects of the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field variability on the magnetospheric dynamics and geomagnetic activity. Such studies are important in the framework of the Space Weather discipline regarding the impact of solar events on the near Earth space and human activities.

The Group runs continuous measurements of the geomagnetic field variations in a wide frequency range are carried out at low (SEGMA array) and high (Terra Nova Bay and Dome C, Antarctica) latitude stations.
